Early on I wanted to know how things work under the surface. I got into software at 12, and the path from writing my own DirectX graphics engine to building web and desktop applications did not take long.

The release of the Symbian SDK turned my attention to mobile development, which I later continued with iOS. As owner and lead developer at IRTECH GmbH and ACTYVO AG, I have shipped a number of projects that are used by hundreds of thousands of people.

Training young apprentices matters to me as well. The Swiss dual education system shaped my own start, so I want to give something back the same way.

Away from the keyboard I keep a few other things going: I co-founded a small kickboxing gym in Schaffhausen, work as a skipper for a local boat company, and play as a DJ in clubs and at weddings. When I am not organising parties, or hosting quiet evenings in our cigar lounge as president of the Tempus association, I spend my time on the High Rhine and Lake Constance, usually on my small console boat.
